About The Position

SPATCO Energy Solutions is hiring an entry-level Service Tech Trainee in the Austin, Texas area. The position provides on-the-job training to advance into a technician role. Trainees are trained and certified to perform routine maintenance and troubleshooting on customers’ fueling equipment. Training sessions may take place outside the employee’s home area; the company pays for training, lodging, and meals. Hours may vary, but employees work at least 40 hours per week, with overtime available. Most calls are completed during the day shift. After training, employees join an on-call rotation. The role involves daily local travel, outdoor work in all types of weather, and lifting 50–75 pounds.

Requirements

High school diploma or GED.
Valid state-issued driver’s license and good driving record.
Ability to work outdoors in all types of weather.
Ability to lift 50–75 pounds.
Ability to travel locally each day.
Must pass a drug screen and background check.
Must attend training sessions, which may be outside the employee’s home area.
Work at least 40 hours per week; overtime and an on-call rotation after training are part of the position.

Responsibilities

Complete petroleum service calls at retail gas stations, commercial locations, hospitals, travel stops, and government facilities.
Complete service call paperwork after each call.
Communicate with the service dispatcher and manager.
Explain technical issues to customers in non-technical terms.
Troubleshoot and repair gasoline dispensing units and point-of-sale systems.
Install, program, and test new petroleum equipment.
Perform scheduled repairs and preventative maintenance on fueling systems.
Analyze electrical and mechanical problems and make repairs as required.
