This role involves managing, coordinating, and directing the workload of the Service Department to maximize efficiency and productivity, with a strong commitment to delivering exceptional customer service. Requirements

  • Ability to operate vehicles/equipment used for diagnostic purposes.
  • 5+ years performing complex service repairs/maintenance.
  • Ability to lift at least 40 lbs repeatedly; 40-75 lbs on occasion.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, varying shifts, weekends, and holidays.
  • Valid driver’s license required.
  • Ag Equipment Tech (JDTECH) Journeyperson Certification/equivalent.
  • Expert knowledge of mechanical, electrical, and hydraulic systems used in the repair of ag/turf equipment.
  • Ability to use current business systems, working knowledge of computer functions and use.

Responsibilities

  • Assign and schedule all service department jobs for technicians based on their skills and knowledge.
  • Motivate, inspire, and assist new and existing employees in their pursuit of excellence through coaching, training, and development.
  • Optimize shop efficiency and flow to avoid lost billable hours.
  • Ensure effective communication and follow-up with customers and employees.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement and training.
  • Provide backup support for the Service Business Manager during their absence and peak seasons.
  • Direct and assist employees in diagnosing and troubleshooting machine problems.
  • Perform final checks and approvals on equipment before the start of a work order.
  • Provide exceptional customer service consistently above standards.
  • Assist service support staff in quoting repairs and maintaining accurate records.
  • Build effective and productive team dynamics with all internal departments.
  • Conduct safety meetings and encourage safe working habits.
