About The Position

The Service Director/Manager leads the Service department within an AutoNation store. This role drives the performance of the Service area by attracting, developing, and retaining talent and creating an exceptional service experience for customers. Success is measured by achieving targeted sales and profit, expense management, Associate retention, and Customer Satisfaction Index goals.

Career growth opportunities after success in this role may include Market Customer Director or another Corporate or Region support role.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Service and/or Parts Management experience.
• Ability to set and achieve targeted goals.
• Proven ability to attract, develop, and retain talent.
• Strong financial and business acumen and the ability to drive revenue and profitability.
• Demonstrated communication and interpersonal skills.
• Organization and follow-up skills.
• Experience and desire to work with technology.
• Valid in-state driver’s license and an acceptable, safe driving record that can be maintained.

Responsibilities

• Set a clear vision and goals for the Service Department to achieve targeted performance.
• Drive an efficient sales and production operation so customers are served quickly while upholding the “fix it right the first time” brand promise.
• Engage and motivate the team to achieve key goals, performance expectations, and AutoNation best-practice processes.
• Attract, develop, and retain talent for the store.
• Create an exceptional customer experience to drive customer loyalty.
• Ensure the Service area is retail-ready with proper displays, point-of-purchase information, and visible competitive pricing for maintenance products.
• Manage the business in accordance with AutoNation and manufacturer requirements and processes.
• Analyze the business to identify shortfalls and develop action plans to improve performance.
• Drive the business through a high level of involvement in day-to-day operations.
