Service Delivery Coordinator - Aquatics
About The Position
The YMCA of Greater Richmond is hiring a mission-driven Service Delivery Coordinator - Aquatics at the Tuckahoe Family YMCA. This hands-on leadership role oversees daily aquatic operations and helps deliver safe, high-quality aquatic experiences for members and staff. The position involves lifeguarding and teaching swim lessons for up to 35 hours per week, with scheduling responsibilities designed to maintain a standard 40-hour workweek. The coordinator supports staff development and helps keep aquatic facilities, equipment, and program spaces safe, clean, and well-maintained.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent.
- At least one year of aquatics-related experience.
- Strong leadership, communication, and customer service skills.
- Ability to organize, multitask, and adapt in a fast-paced, hands-on environment.
- Proficiency with PC-based applications and scheduling tools.
- Willingness to work a flexible schedule and support multiple program areas.
- Must obtain and maintain required certifications.
Nice To Haves
- Current Lifeguarding certification.
- Current CPR/AED certification.
- Current First Aid certification.
Responsibilities
- Oversee daily aquatic operations during assigned shifts, ensuring safety, operational efficiency, and positive experiences for members and staff.
- Manage staff scheduling to ensure coverage while maintaining a standard 40-hour workweek.
- Lifeguard and teach swim lessons for up to 35 hours per week.
- Provide visible leadership on deck and model YMCA standards and best practices.
- Ensure aquatic facilities, equipment, program spaces, and pump room operations are safe, clean, and well-maintained.
- Uphold safety protocols and respond appropriately to incidents or emergencies.
- Support hiring, onboarding, training, and ongoing supervision of aquatic staff, including lifeguards and swim instructors.
- Contribute to in-service trainings and continuous improvement efforts.
- Work a flexible schedule that may include afternoons, evenings, and weekends.
- Support multiple program areas as needed.
