About The Position

MSS is hiring a Service Coordinator for its Apple Valley Center in Dakota County, Minnesota. The role involves working with a close-knit team to design and implement meaningful, rewarding programs for people with disabilities. All positions include direct care, which may involve assisting people with daily activities such as eating lunch, taking medicine, and using the bathroom. The center is open Monday through Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., with no evenings or weekends required.

Requirements

• Meet Minnesota's requirements to qualify as a Designated Coordinator under 245D. Qualification may be met through one of the following: a related BA/BS and one year of direct-care work with people with disabilities; a related associate degree and two years of such experience; a related diploma from an accredited postsecondary institution and three years of such experience; or at least 50 hours of related human-services education and training plus four years of direct-care experience serving people with disabilities and older adults under the supervision of a person who meets the listed qualification criteria.
• Be caring, patient, and encouraging with people who have different needs.
• Have a valid Minnesota driver's license and a good recent driving record.
• Be able to obtain a DOT Medical card.
• Complete a background check.

Responsibilities

• Work with a team to design and implement programs for people served by MSS.
• Provide direct care and assist with daily activities, which may include eating lunch, taking medicine, and using the bathroom.
• Help maintain the safety of the people served.
