About The Position

The Service Coordinator II, also known as the Digital Access Coordinator, plays a crucial role in facilitating digital access initiatives, youth development, and community partnerships. This position involves training various groups on digital skills, supporting youth in college and career readiness, and building relationships with community organizations. The role requires a strong understanding of trauma-informed care and a commitment to creating a youth-centered environment. Responsibilities include program oversight, data collection, reporting, and direct client services, all while fostering a positive and respectful working environment.

Requirements

  • Ability to train youth, staff, community partners, and stakeholders on various digital access initiatives.
  • Ability to handle a high volume of projects and communications with a large number of individuals from multiple organizations.
  • Ability to train youth Digital Navigators on digital skill building trainings.
  • Ability to facilitate digital trainings and presentations to youth, adults, older adults, and other target populations.
  • Ability to coordinate with other digital inclusion focused organizations.
  • Experience recruiting and maintaining retention for youth and participants to various youth educational programming with target populations growing up within the Digital Divide.
  • Experience conducting mentor outreach, recruiting mentors, and building partnerships with local sources of mentors.
  • Experience ensuring proper mentor screening and candidate review, providing orientation, ongoing training, and support to mentors.
  • Experience creating a culture within a safe space that is youth-centered with direct service that is trauma-informed care.
  • Experience identifying the needs of youth and parents/guardians/families and providing them with assistance and various resources.
  • Ability to travel to various conferences out of state as part of The Clubhouse Network and Best Buy’s professional development training.
  • Ability to represent Family Service during local monthly meetings to share best practices, resources, and participate in networking opportunities.
  • Associate's degree and four (4) years’ experience OR High school diploma/GED and eight (8) years’ experience in education, health, social work, or other related human service field, required.
  • 2+ years of experience in youth services, especially youth development with the support of adult mentors.
  • State of Texas vehicle operator’s license and proof of liability insurance.
  • Ability to drive agency vans to transport youth for field trips.
  • Associate's degree in education, health, social work, child growth and development, early childhood or other related human service field, required.
  • A minimum of four (4) years experience in early childhood education, required.
  • Experience in working in a collaborative environment building organizational and stakeholder relationships and planning, required.
  • Previous direct services leadership experience.
  • Ability to stand, walk, reach with hands and arms, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch or crawl, talk and hear, and taste or smell.
  • Ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
  • Close vision, color vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus with good hand-eye coordination.
  • Bachelors or better in Social Work or related field.
  • A minimum of 4 years experience in early childhood education, required.

Nice To Haves

  • Bachelors of Science or Arts degree preferred and two (2) years’ experience.
  • 3+ years of direct experience in youth services.
  • Open to learning new types of technology to promote continuous learning alongside youth and team members.
  • Experience with technology not required.
  • Experience recruiting long-term mentors and providing them with mentor onboarding and training.
  • Ability to sustain and maintain a strong mentorship program for youth.
  • Ability to be flexible, accountable, reliable, work independently, and serve as a strong support system for youth and team members.
  • Ability to work as a team player and be part of a youth serving team dynamic.
  • Fluent in English and Spanish (read, write, and speak) desirable.
  • Certificate or license, as applicable, by the appropriate State agency as a qualified practitioner.

Responsibilities

  • Train youth, staff, community partners, and stakeholders on various digital access initiatives.
  • Facilitate soft skill building and college/career readiness programming for teens.
  • Serve as a resource on college and career readiness for families.
  • Develop and enhance youth leadership opportunities.
  • Cultivate partnerships with community partners and invite guest speakers or organizations for workshops.
  • Train youth Digital Navigators on digital skill building.
  • Facilitate digital trainings and presentations to diverse populations.
  • Coordinate with other digital inclusion organizations to provide programming and resources.
  • Prepare monthly reports and attend group calls for relevant councils and community groups.
  • Track reporting data and submit reports on a timely basis.
  • Recruit and maintain retention for youth and participants in educational programming.
  • Conduct mentor outreach, recruit mentors, and build partnerships with local sources of mentors.
  • Ensure proper mentor screening, provide orientation, ongoing training, and support to mentors.
  • Create a safe, youth-centered, trauma-informed care environment.
  • Identify the needs of youth and families and provide assistance and resources.
  • Travel to various conferences out of state for professional development training.
  • Represent Family Service during local monthly meetings to share best practices and participate in networking.
  • Ensure that clients have access to the five pillars of the social determinants of health with a trauma-informed lens.
  • Supervise and provide oversight of day-to-day operations of assigned projects.
  • Plan programs, events, and training on early childhood education and professional development.
  • Supervise staff by monitoring accountability responsibilities and providing developmental training.
  • Actively support and contribute to the achievement of program goals and objectives.
  • Communicate the agency and program's rationale, methodology, and goals to community groups.
  • Participate in multi-agency coordination and collaboration activities.
  • Manage and oversee the collection of data and service questionnaires/surveys.
  • Input client services into Client Track and run reports for reporting purposes.
  • Supervise the recruitment, interviewing, training, and placement of service volunteers.
  • Identify, cultivate, develop, and maintain strategic relationships with key partners and collaborators.
  • Identify service gaps and/or duplication in services to facilitate a well-coordinated service delivery system.
  • Evaluate service results and outcomes compared to established goals and objectives.
  • Identify and secure funds that enhance and expand program implementation efforts.
  • Represent the agency at meetings with community stakeholders and other groups.
  • Maintain good relationships with stakeholders, focusing on excellent and culturally sensitive customer service.
  • Maintain a working environment that encourages mutual respect and is free from harassment.
  • Assist in defining protocols, roles, and responsibilities for Memoranda of Understanding between partners.
  • Provide direct client services, including answering client calls and providing program information.
  • Perform other duties as assigned, including presentations to community groups.
