About The Position
Fox Motors is hiring a Service Advisor at Fox Buick GMC in Farmington Hills, Michigan. The Service Advisor contributes to the company’s vision of “Working together moving people throughout life” by building customer trust and long-term relationships. This role is an automotive expert in the service lane, responsible for selling and scheduling service work, preparing and presenting repair orders, and maintaining customer records. The position requires automotive knowledge, strong communication skills, and a team-focused approach.
Requirements
- Two to four years of related experience and/or training, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Automotive knowledge.
- Experience and desire to work with technology to deliver an exceptional customer experience.
- Excellent communication, organization, and follow-up skills.
- Ability to multitask, prioritize, and manage time effectively.
- Valid driver's license.
- Team-focused approach.
Responsibilities
- Schedule service appointments.
- Greet customers promptly and courteously, and obtain vehicle information.
- Collect customer and vehicle data before arrival when possible.
- Accurately document customer vehicle concerns on repair orders.
- Review service history, inspect vehicles, and recommend additional needed service.
- Prepare complete, accurate written cost estimates for labor and parts.
- Check repair progress throughout the day.
- Notify customers of estimate or promised-time changes, explain costs and timing, and obtain authorization before performing additional repairs.
- Review repair orders to confirm work is complete and additional work and authorization are documented.
- Close repair orders as appropriate.
- Explain completed work and all charges to customers.
- Maintain customer records.
