Server - Part Time Days - Nelson Care Center
About The Position
The Server provides dining service to residents and guests in a care center, helping residents select meals, assisting with seating, and fostering positive relationships. The role supports an enjoyable mealtime experience by maintaining a clean, welcoming dining environment and treating residents with dignity and warmth. The position includes setting and clearing tables, arranging seating, maintaining flatware and glassware, washing and organizing dishes, and cleaning dining and kitchen areas. The Server follows safety and infection-control procedures, communicates proactively with residents and team members, and may assist with special projects or other areas of the building. Attendance at required in-service training and team meetings is part of the role. This is an hourly, non-exempt position with no supervisory responsibilities.
Requirements
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to follow emergency protocols.
- Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Successful completion of a state-mandated background check.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in dining services, food handling, or customer service is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with seating residents and guests, build positive relationships, and help residents select meals.
- Set and clear tables and arrange seating.
- Maintain the cleanliness and condition of flatware and glassware.
- Wash dishes and organize clean dishes in designated areas.
- Vacuum, sweep, and mop dining and kitchen areas while following safety and infection-control procedures.
- Communicate proactively with residents and team members.
- Participate in special projects and assist in other areas of the building as needed.
- Attend required in-service training sessions and team meetings.
- Follow emergency protocols.
