Server - Part Time Days - Nelson Care Center
About The Position
The Server provides dining service to residents and guests, assisting with seating and meal selections while building positive relationships. The role helps create a clean, welcoming dining environment and supports residents in enjoying meals with dignity, joy, and companionship. The position is part time, scheduled for 48 hours per pay period from 6 a.m. to 2 p.m., including every other weekend and a holiday rotation. It is an hourly, non-exempt role eligible for overtime, with no travel or supervisory responsibilities. The Server receives leadership from the Supervisor of Dining Operations and the Manager of Culinary Services.
Requirements
- Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
- Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
- Ability to follow emergency protocols.
- Proficient in English for effective communication with staff, clients, and visitors.
- Successful completion of a state-mandated background check.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in dining services, food handling, or customer service is preferred but not required.
Responsibilities
- Assist with seating residents and guests, build positive relationships, and help residents select meals.
- Set and clear tables, arrange seating, and maintain the cleanliness and condition of flatware and glassware.
- Wash dishes and organize clean dishes in designated areas.
- Maintain dining and kitchen areas by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping while following safety and infection-control procedures.
- Communicate proactively with residents and team members.
- Participate in special projects, assist in other areas of the building, and attend required in-service training sessions and team meetings.
- Follow emergency protocols.
