Nursing Assistant - Part Time Evenings - Nelson Care Center
About The Position
As a Certified Nursing Assistant at Vivie’s Nelson Care Center, you’ll provide hands-on support to residents, helping ensure their safety, comfort, and dignity. You’ll assist with daily activities, monitor health changes, offer companionship, and help create a home-like environment where residents can thrive. This part-time role is 48 hours per pay period, scheduled from 2:30 p.m. to 11 p.m., including every other weekend and holiday. The position is hourly and non-exempt, eligible for overtime, and does not include supervisory responsibilities. There is no travel requirement. The role is in the Nursing Department and SNF division, and receives leadership from the Director of Clinical Care or Nursing.
Requirements
- Hold an active Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) license in Minnesota.
- Provide care with empathy, patience, and integrity.
- Have the physical capability to perform all essential job functions.
- Pass the state-mandated background check.
- Be able to read, write, and speak English to communicate effectively with residents, staff, and visitors.
Nice To Haves
- Previous experience in long-term care, assisted living, or home health.
Responsibilities
- Deliver compassionate, hands-on care by assisting residents with dressing, grooming, bathing, toileting, and mobility according to each resident’s Plan of Care.
- Support residents’ daily well-being by offering meals, hydration, companionship, and encouragement for social engagement.
- Monitor and report changes in residents’ vital signs, skin conditions, and behavioral or physical status, communicating promptly with the nursing team.
- Help residents feel comfortable, respected, and supported by creating a home-like atmosphere.
- Perform other duties as assigned to ensure residents receive exceptional care and support.
