The Server provides friendly, service-oriented customer service in a restaurant setting. The role includes presenting menus, explaining menu items and daily specials, helping diners choose food and beverages, taking and accurately relaying orders to the kitchen, delivering food promptly, and ensuring customers have what they need for an enjoyable meal. The Server also handles customer questions and complaints professionally, coordinates with restaurant colleagues, prepares tables, calculates bills, presents checks, and processes payments. The work takes place in a restaurant with potentially loud noise and a fast-paced, sometimes chaotic dining room, especially during busy hours. Employees may encounter hazards such as cuts, slips, trips, falls, and burns, and frequent handwashing is required. The role involves regular talking and listening, standing, walking, bending, kneeling, stooping, and crouching, and may occasionally require lifting products weighing up to 20 pounds. Long hours and frequent weekend work are regularly required. Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
