Server (Full And Part Time)
About The Position
Bon Appétit Management Company is hiring full-time and part-time Servers at Porsche in Carson, California. The position takes food and beverage orders and delivers items efficiently to dining room guests. Servers greet guests, provide prompt and professional service, explain menu items and ingredients, accommodate reasonable requests, and communicate with kitchen staff to ensure orders and special requests are handled correctly. The role also involves maintaining a clean and safe dining area, following food-handling and sanitation standards, handling cash, addressing guest issues, and assisting during special events and functions. The schedule is Tuesday through Saturday, 9:00 AM to 5:00 PM. The pay range is $16.90 to $35.00 per hour. Two years of experience working at a full-service restaurant is required; previous fine dining experience is preferred. Bon Appétit operates cafés and public restaurants and highlights socially and environmentally responsible sourcing and cooking from scratch with fresh, local ingredients.

Responsibilities
- Promptly and warmly greet dining room guests and take food and beverage orders following established service steps.
- Deliver food promptly and professionally while maintaining safe food-handling and sanitation standards.
- Follow up with guests to assist with additional needs or requests.
- Understand menu items and ingredients; advise guests on food and drink combinations when requested.
- Accommodate reasonable requests and note guest preferences, including knowledge of specialized diets and allergens as needed.
- Communicate with back-of-house staff to ensure orders are delivered correctly and special requests are accommodated.
- Communicate effectively and remain flexible and patient with guests and staff.
- Collect tickets and follow proper cash-handling procedures.
- Promote a clean, safe, and neat environment for guests.
- Maintain sensitivity and confidentiality regarding personal or medical information shared by guests.
- Address complaints or issues promptly and relay relevant information to a supervisor.
- Set up the dining room before service and restore it after service, keeping the area clean and meeting sanitation standards.
- Operate equipment including fire extinguishers, telephones, iced tea and soda machines, soup wells, and coffee machines.
- Work with staff from other departments during special events and functions.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
