About The Position
The Server prepares the restaurant for service, welcomes guests, guides them through the menu with descriptive recommendations, and accurately records orders and special requests. The role requires detailed menu knowledge and collaboration with restaurant servers and kitchen and bar staff. Servers also help resolve guest concerns and present bills promptly and accurately. The position is part-time at The Ridge Hotel and pays $23 per hour.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of food service experience.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the restaurant before the shift.
- Greet guests at their tables.
- Guide guests through the menu using descriptive selling.
- Take orders accurately and confirm special requests.
- Learn menu details to support conversations with guests.
- Work collaboratively with other restaurant servers and kitchen and bar staff.
- Help guests resolve concerns and reach a satisfactory outcome.
- Present bills promptly and accurately.
