About The Position
The Server prepares the restaurant for service, welcomes guests, guides them through the menu, and provides attentive service throughout their dining experience. The role includes accurately taking orders and confirming special requests, developing detailed knowledge of menu offerings, collaborating with restaurant and kitchen/bar staff, helping resolve guest concerns, and presenting bills promptly and accurately. The position is part-time at The Ridge Hotel.
Requirements
- 1–2 years of food service experience.
- Ability to work under pressure in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong communication skills.
- Ability to stand for long periods of time.
Responsibilities
- Prepare the restaurant before the service shift.
- Greet guests when they arrive at their tables.
- Guide guests through the menu using descriptive selling.
- Take orders accurately and confirm special requests.
- Maintain detailed knowledge of the menu to enhance guest conversations.
- Work collaboratively with other restaurant servers and kitchen/bar staff.
- Assist guests with concerns and guide them toward a satisfactory resolution.
- Present bills accurately and promptly.
