About The Position

Servers at The Statehouse provide exceptional food and beverage service and create a warm, welcoming atmosphere for guests. They collaborate with the restaurant team to prepare for and execute service, maintain product knowledge, deliver attentive service, and support colleagues to provide an elevated dining experience reflecting The Edgewater’s standards. The role includes restaurant and banquet service and may involve extended hours, high-volume periods, outdoor work, and varying weather conditions.

Requirements

Previous serving experience in an upscale, high-volume restaurant.
Knowledge of fine-dining service standards, wines, liquors, and beers.
Strong attention to detail and ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
Excellent communication skills and a guest-focused attitude.
Ability to work flexible schedules, including nights, weekends, and holidays.
Professional, well-groomed, and well-spoken demeanor.
Understanding of food preparation, safe handling, sanitation standards, and bar terminology.
Ability to lift up to 25 lbs. and stand for extended periods.
Ability to perform frequent standing, walking, and reaching, and occasional sitting, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
Ability to communicate effectively through talking and hearing.
Vision abilities including close, distance, color, peripheral, and depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
Ability to perform substantial repetitive motion of the wrists, hands, and fingers.

Responsibilities

Deliver authentic, professional, and friendly service to guests.
Greet guests promptly and warmly according to The Edgewater service standards.
Accurately take food and beverage orders and ensure timely delivery.
Respond professionally to guest requests, issues, and complaints, escalating when necessary.
Prepare service stations and complete opening and closing checklists.
Maintain knowledge of menus, specials, wine pairings, and bar offerings.
Assist with banquet and event functions, including plated meals, buffets, and working lunches.
Complete side duties such as restocking, cleaning, and bar support, including filling ice bins, garnishing drinks, and resetting tables.
Maintain cleanliness of counters, sinks, utensils, shelves, and storage areas.
Collaborate with servers, bartenders, hosts, and kitchen staff to support smooth operations.
Attend required training and stay current on service standards and restaurant policies.
Support colleagues across the restaurant and hotel when needed.
