About The Position

Terrain Café is seeking a dedicated and passionate Server to join its front-of-house team. The Server helps create meaningful, memorable dining experiences by greeting guests, guiding them through seasonal menus, recommending food and beverage pairings, and providing attentive, personalized service in a welcoming, nature-inspired setting. The role suits a warm, curious service professional committed to quality and care, passionate about food, eager to learn, and comfortable working in a collaborative, guest-centered environment.

The Server follows service standards, anticipates guest needs, accurately handles orders and payments, and maintains clean, organized service areas. The role also involves developing and sharing detailed knowledge of seasonal dishes, ingredient sourcing, local purveyors, and beverage offerings. Servers collaborate with teammates, adapt to guest needs and service pacing, and participate in daily team meetings and seasonal tastings.

Requirements

• Friendly, guest-focused communication skills and a poised, professional presence.
• Ability to multitask while remaining calm and organized under pressure.
• Passion for hospitality, food, and sustainability.
• Familiarity with POS systems; Toast is specified.
• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
• Ability to stand, bend, reach, and move for extended periods.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in an elevated, high-volume environment is preferred.
• Flexible availability is preferred and may include mornings, evenings, weekends, and select holidays.

Responsibilities

• Provide personalized, elevated service in a welcoming, nature-inspired setting.
• Guide guests through seasonal menus and beverage offerings and follow steps of service consistently.
• Anticipate guest needs and provide prompt, thoughtful attention throughout service.
• Help create a calm, intentional atmosphere that encourages return visits.
• Greet and engage guests with enthusiasm, poise, and genuine hospitality.
• Listen carefully and accurately account for guest allergies, preferences, and needs.
• Take and accurately enter orders using the Toast POS system.
• Deliver food and beverages promptly and professionally.
• Provide tableside wine service and engaging beverage presentations.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization across service areas.
• Process payments accurately and follow café standards.
• Conduct menu tours and explain dish preparation, ingredient sourcing, and local purveyors.
• Explain specials and seasonal menu updates and recommend suitable food and drink pairings.
• Educate guests about wines, craft beers, non-alcoholic drinks, and specialty coffees.
• Complete seasonal menu testing as directed.
• Support teammates and collaborate with peers during service.
• Adapt to changing guest needs and service pacing in a dynamic dining environment.
• Participate in daily team meetings and seasonal tastings.
