Server AM and PM - Part Time
About The Position
The Server provides prompt, courteous food and beverage service and excellent customer service in a fast-paced environment. The role involves taking orders, serving food and beverages, ensuring guest satisfaction, maximizing sales through upselling, and maintaining established service standards. Servers also complete payment transactions and side work, keep their work areas and tables clean and organized, and help create an upbeat, service-oriented atmosphere. The position requires enforcing alcohol-service rules, including checking identification when appropriate and suspending service to intoxicated individuals in accordance with Delaware law. Responsibilities may change based on business needs.
Requirements
- At least 3 years of serving experience in a high-volume restaurant or bar.
- Strong organizational, time-management, and mathematical skills.
- Fluency in English and the ability to communicate clearly with guests and coworkers.
- Basic knowledge of beer, wine, and spirits, and familiarity with menu items.
- Professional appearance and manner.
- Ability to upsell and drive revenue.
- Ability to exercise judgment and make sound decisions.
- Strong interpersonal skills and cordial behavior.
- Flexible working hours.
- Ability to complete state-specific Delaware TIPS or comparable training.
- Ability to stand for extended periods; walk, push, lift up to 50 pounds, bend, reach, stoop, kneel, or crouch.

- Knowledge of MICROS.
Responsibilities

- Upsell food and beverage items to drive revenue.
- Deliver table service in accordance with established standards.
- Complete customer requests courteously and according to standards.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area.
- Interact verbally with guests to create an upbeat, service-oriented atmosphere.
- Complete payment transactions and side work according to standards.
- Clean and reset tables according to standards.
- Notify management of incidents involving excessive alcohol consumption or impaired customers.
- Check guests’ identification when in question and do not serve guests without valid identification.
- Suspend service to intoxicated individuals in accordance with Delaware law.
- Comply with established food and beverage standards.
- Help coworkers with their duties and perform other duties assigned by management.
