About The Position

The Restaurant Server promotes and sells menu items while delivering exceptional guest service. The role is responsible for accurately taking orders, delivering food and beverages promptly, ensuring guest satisfaction, and following restaurant service, food safety, and alcohol service standards. The server also maintains dining and service areas, supports restaurant operations, and works collaboratively with team members.

Requirements

At least 1 year of server experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant or dining facility.
Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
Strong verbal and written communication skills.
Professional and friendly hospitality attitude.
Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
Knowledge of food safety and safe food handling procedures.
Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages.
TIPS certification or ability to become TIPS certified.
Ability to operate a computer system and point-of-sale system.
Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
Ability to work effectively under pressure with strong attention to detail and accuracy.
Ability to hear and respond to guest requests and assess guest body language and expressions.
Ability to explain menu items and specials clearly and accurately write and communicate orders.
Ability to maintain professional language, appearance, and conduct.
Ability to bend and lift food trays weighing up to 40 lbs.
Ability to work continuously in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods throughout a shift.
Ability to climb stairs and safely carry hot and cold food items.
Applicants must already have work authorization for the United States.

Responsibilities

Greet guests promptly and provide a welcoming dining experience.

Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
Prepare guest checks accurately, process payments, and provide accurate change.
Clean, clear, and reset tables and service items.
Complete assigned side work and cleaning checklists.
Restock service stations and supplies as needed.
Assist with guest seating and answer restaurant telephone calls when necessary.
Maintain a strong commitment to guest satisfaction, reliable attendance, and punctuality.
Promote menu items and specials to increase sales.
Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas.
Follow food safety and alcohol service standards.
Assist team members during busy service periods and maintain positive communication with guests and coworkers.
Support restaurant operations and guest satisfaction initiatives.
