About The Position

The Restaurant Server promotes and sells the menu while providing exceptional guest service. The role is responsible for accurate order taking, timely food and beverage delivery, guest satisfaction, and compliance with restaurant service and food safety standards. Servers greet guests, describe menu items and specials, answer questions, process checks and payments, and maintain clean, stocked dining and service areas. They also assist with seating, telephone calls, and team needs during busy service periods. Applicants must already have work authorization in the United States. Employment is subject to a satisfactory background check.

Requirements

• At least 1 year of server experience in a high-volume or fine dining restaurant or dining facility.
• Ability to read, write, and speak English effectively.
• Strong verbal and written communication skills.
• Professional and friendly hospitality attitude.
• Ability to multitask and stay organized in a fast-paced environment.
• Knowledge of food safety and safe food handling procedures.
• Knowledge of wines and alcoholic beverages.
• TIPS certification or ability to become TIPS certified.
• Ability to operate a computer system.
• Strong customer service and teamwork skills.
• Ability to bend and lift food trays up to 40 lbs.
• Ability to work continuously in a fast-paced environment and stand for extended periods throughout a shift.
• Ability to climb stairs and safely carry hot and cold food items.
• Ability to work effectively under pressure and maintain attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to hear and respond to guest requests, assess guest body language and expressions, explain menu items and specials clearly, and accurately write and communicate orders.
• Ability to maintain professional language, appearance, and conduct at all times.
• Applicants must already have work authorization for the United States.

Responsibilities

• Greet guests promptly and provide a welcoming dining experience.

• Ensure food appearance, temperature, and portion sizes meet quality standards.
• Deliver food and beverages in a timely and professional manner.
• Prepare guest checks accurately and process payments, providing accurate change.
• Clean, clear, and reset tables and service items.
• Complete assigned side-work and cleaning checklists.
• Restock service stations and supplies as needed.
• Assist with guest seating and answer restaurant telephone calls when necessary.
• Maintain guest satisfaction, reliable attendance, and punctuality.
• Maintain cleanliness and organization of dining and service areas.
• Follow food safety and alcohol service standards.
• Assist team members during busy service periods and support restaurant operations and guest satisfaction initiatives.
• Maintain positive communication with guests and coworkers.
