Server - Sage Lodge
About The Position
The Server creates exceptional dining experiences by engaging guests, helping them navigate menu offerings, identifying upselling opportunities, and delivering attentive service. The role takes and serves food and beverage orders according to established standards, communicates special requests to the culinary team, and ensures guests receive attractive, consistently presented items at the correct temperature. The Server maintains current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, processes payments using proper cash-handling procedures, and keeps the work and dining areas clean and organized. The position is based at Sage Lodge, a luxury resort on the Yellowstone River in Montana.
Requirements
- Previous experience as a server in a similar restaurant environment.
- Ability to perform essential functions on a computerized Point of Sale system.
- Working knowledge of dining and beverage service procedures.
- Working knowledge of applicable liquor laws and regulations.
- Required state Food Handler’s License(s) and Liquor Serving Permit(s).
Responsibilities
- Take orders and serve food and beverage items to guests in accordance with established standards.
- Enter orders into the computerized Point of Sale system and communicate special requests to the culinary team.
- Assemble food items such as appetizers, salads, and soups.
- Ensure food and beverages are attractively and consistently presented and served at the correct temperature.
- Maintain current knowledge of food and beverage offerings, including menu changes and sold-out items.
- Process guest payments using proper accounting and cash-handling procedures.
- Keep the work area, including the guest dining area, clean and organized.
- Engage guests, guide them through menu offerings, identify upselling opportunities, and deliver an excellent service experience.
