About The Position

At Vivie, the Server provides dining service to residents and helps foster meaningful connections within the community. The role assists residents with meal selections and seating, maintains a clean and welcoming dining environment, and supports residents in enjoying mealtimes with dignity, joy, and companionship.

This is a part-time, hourly, non-exempt position in the Culinary department, scheduled for 32 hours per pay period. Shifts are mixed: 6 a.m.–2 p.m. on weekends and 3 p.m.–6:30 p.m. during the week. The schedule includes every other weekend and holiday. The position has no travel requirements and no supervisory responsibilities. Leadership is received from the Supervisor of Dining Operations and the Manager of Culinary Services.

Requirements

• Strong collaboration and teamwork skills.
• Ability to perform physical tasks, including lifting, bending, and standing for extended periods.
• Ability to follow emergency protocols.
• Proficiency in English to communicate effectively with staff, clients, and visitors.
• Successful completion of a state-mandated background check.

Nice To Haves

• Previous experience in dining services, food handling, or customer service is preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with seating residents and guests, building positive relationships, and helping residents select meals.
• Set and clear tables, arrange seating, and maintain the cleanliness and condition of flatware and glassware.
• Wash dishes and organize clean dishes in designated areas.
• Maintain dining and kitchen areas by vacuuming, sweeping, and mopping while following safety and infection-control procedures.
• Communicate proactively with residents and team members.
• Participate in special projects, assist in other areas of the building, and attend required in-service training sessions and team meetings.
