About The Position

The Server is responsible for providing guests with attentive, courteous, and efficient service. The role involves receiving and delivering food and beverage orders, collecting payment, and ensuring overall guest satisfaction. The Server should know the restaurant, lounge, and room service organization and operations, and be familiar with the menus, specials, and point-of-sale system.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Ability to work flexible and sometimes long hours.
• Ability to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.
• Ability to stand for the entire shift.
• Ability to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages.
• Effective verbal and written communication with employees and guests at all levels.
• Ability to listen to, understand, and clarify concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Approach interactions with guests and employees in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor.

Responsibilities

• Know the organization of the restaurants, lounges, and room service, including the function of each job position.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets.
• Serve guests’ food and beverage requirements attentively, courteously, and efficiently.
• Pre-bus tables by removing soiled dishes after each course.
• Use the point-of-sale system.
• Close checks, perform cashiering functions, and prepare end-of-shift paperwork.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and assigned side work according to established checklists.
• Keep tables and side stands stocked, tidy, and clean.
• Keep beverages at least three-quarters full.
• Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dishroom according to established standards.
• Upsell food, beverages, and promotional items.
• Receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payment.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Maintain regular attendance, personal appearance, and grooming in accordance with hotel standards.
• Comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
• Support productivity, identify problem areas, and assist with implementing solutions.
• Anticipate, prevent, identify, and solve problems as necessary.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
