About The Position

The Server provides attentive, courteous, and efficient service to guests, receives and delivers food and beverage orders, and collects payment. The role requires knowledge of restaurant, lounge, and room-service operations, menus and specials, and point-of-sale procedures. Servers maintain clean and stocked tables and service areas, perform assigned opening and closing duties, support guest satisfaction, and uphold hotel standards for safety, attendance, appearance, and service.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent and/or experience in a hotel or related field preferred.
• Must be able to communicate effectively, verbally and in writing, with employees and guests at all levels in an attentive, friendly, courteous, and service-oriented manner.
• Must be effective at listening to, understanding, and clarifying concerns raised by employees and guests.
• Must be effective in handling problems, including anticipating, preventing, identifying, and solving them.
• Must be able to stand during the entire shift.
• Must be able to maneuver throughout the dining area while carrying full trays of food and beverages.
• Must be able to exert up to 50 pounds of force occasionally and/or 20 pounds frequently or constantly to lift, carry, push, pull, or otherwise move objects.

Responsibilities

• Know the organization of the restaurants, lounges, and room service, and understand the function of each job position.
• Maintain thorough knowledge of menus and current specials in applicable outlets.
• Serve guests’ food and beverage requirements attentively, courteously, and efficiently.
• Pre-bus tables by removing soiled dishes after each course.
• Know how to operate the P.O.S. system.
• Close checks, perform cashiering functions, and prepare end-of-shift paperwork.
• Perform opening and closing procedures and assigned side work according to station rotation and established checklists.
• Keep tables and side stands stocked, tidy, and clean.
• Keep coffee, tea, soda, water, and lemonade beverages at least three-quarters full.
• Break down trays of soiled dishes and linen in the dishroom according to established standards.
• Upsell food, beverages, and promotional items.
• Receive and deliver food and beverage orders and collect payment.
• Ensure overall guest satisfaction.
• Maintain regular attendance in accordance with scheduling and hotel standards.
• Maintain high standards of personal appearance and grooming, including wearing the proper uniform and nametag.
• Comply with hotel standards and regulations to encourage safe and efficient operations.
• Support productivity, identify problem areas, and assist in implementing solutions.
• Anticipate, prevent, identify, and resolve problems effectively.
• Perform other duties as requested by management.
• Maintain a friendly and warm demeanor.
