About The Position

The Dining Assistant assists with food preparation, serving, and cleanup. The role maintains an orderly work area, follows facility policies and procedures, demonstrates high levels of service, and complies with federal and state regulations. The position is part-time, scheduled for 20 hours every two weeks from 3:30 p.m. to 6:30 p.m., with an every-other-weekend rotation. The targeted pay range is $16.50–$19.50 per hour.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
Ability to communicate effectively verbally and in writing.
Ability to follow facility safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures, including those concerning Vulnerable Adult and Abuse Policy, HIPAA, Resident’s Bill of Rights, Universal Precaution, AWAIR, OSHA, Right to Know, SDS, ADA, HUD policies and procedures, and Fair Housing laws and regulations.

Responsibilities

Provide exemplary, friendly, responsive service to residents, families, and guests.
Serve meals according to residents’ diet orders and portion sizes, ensuring food is served at the proper temperature.
Maintain a clean, sanitary, safe, and efficiently organized work area.
Label, date, and rotate products to maintain an adequate supply of fresh food and supplies.
Operate equipment required for assigned duties safely.
Complete assigned opening and closing duties.
Perform routine daily and weekly cleaning responsibilities.
Notify a supervisor when observing changes in residents’ personal health.
Respond to resident requests, special requests, concerns, or complaints and promptly notify a supervisor.
Work effectively with others in a demanding and changing environment and support other community employees as directed by the leadership team.
Assist with special functions as directed.
Respect facility property and supplies.
Follow facility safety rules, regulations, policies, and procedures and comply with applicable federal and state regulations.
