About The Position

The National, an Autograph Collection luxury hotel located in Oklahoma City’s historic First National Center, is hiring a Server Assistant. The hotel features 146 guest rooms, Tellers Italian restaurant, and The Great Hall. The Server Assistant supports the dining team by anticipating guest and Server needs, maintaining clean and organized dining and service areas, and helping create a polished, seamless dining experience. The role calls for urgency, attention to detail, teamwork, and a calm, professional presence in a fast-paced restaurant environment.

The position involves frequent guest interaction and coordination with Servers, Hosts, Managers, and other Curators. Employees must maintain a complete uniform and professional appearance, follow restaurant service and sanitation standards, and be able to work flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays, based on business needs. The job requires standing and walking throughout an eight-hour shift and lifting, carrying, pushing, or pulling items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Requirements

• Ability to maintain focus, professionalism, and attention to detail during busy meal periods.
• Must wear closed-toe, non-canvas, non-skid-soled shoes while working.

Nice To Haves

• Previous restaurant serving and/or customer service experience.
• Previous hotel or hospitality experience.
• Basic knowledge of restaurant menus, ingredients, cooking techniques, and glassware.
• Familiarity with computer systems and ordering procedures.

Responsibilities

• Support Servers and Hosts with food and beverage service throughout the meal.
• Monitor the flow of service and each table’s place in the dining experience.
• Provide attentive water service and maintain appropriate water levels.
• Clear, clean, and reset tables according to company standards and timing.
• Provide crumb service when directed by the Server.
• Transport dirty tableware to the dish drop area and sort it properly.
• Keep service stations stocked with silverware, linens, glassware, condiments, and other supplies.
• Fold napkins, polish silver, replenish condiments, and maintain organized side stands.
• Wipe down booths and chairs, move tables and chairs as needed, and keep dining areas clean.
• Keep the dining room, waiting areas, and service spaces clean, organized, stocked, and visually appealing.
• Respond promptly and graciously to guest questions and service concerns, and communicate issues to the appropriate Server or Manager on Duty.
• Complete special cleaning projects, including dusting, polishing, and scrubbing walls, as restaurant needs require.
• Maintain a polished, guest-ready appearance of the assigned station and surrounding areas.
• Communicate consistently with Servers, Hosts, Managers, and fellow Curators to support smooth service.
• Move quickly and gracefully throughout the dining room while remaining attentive to guests.
• Support the team wherever needed to help create a seamless guest experience.
