About The Position

Kiawah Island Club is seeking a Server Assistant for The River Room to support its mission of being the finest private club in the world. The Server Assistant welcomes members and guests with warmth, enthusiasm, and grace in a fast-paced, multifaceted club restaurant, applying empathy to build member loyalty and prioritizing teammates’ needs. Service periods include lunch and dinner.

Requirements

• Ability to work weekdays and weekends.
• Positive, outgoing personality.
• Professional image and phone etiquette.
• Ability to stand for long periods.
• Reliable transportation.
• TIPS (Training for Intervention Procedures) certification, to be obtained within 30 days of hire.

Nice To Haves

• Previous customer service experience.
• Previous food and beverage experience.

Responsibilities

• Arrive on time for scheduled shifts in uniform and ready to provide hospitality.
• Maintain an understanding of table numbers, seat positions, and the flow of service required across front-of-house roles.
• Coordinate with the management team to escort guests to the correct tables smoothly and accurately.
• Build foundational knowledge of classic cookery, wine, beer, and cocktails.
• Keep menu and beverage knowledge current as offerings change.
• Communicate and listen effectively to deliver accurate information to guests and teammates.
• Provide hospitality and contribute to a first-class team.
