About The Position
The Server Assistant supports smooth, gracious dining experiences across resort outlets, including the restaurant, pool, beach, and in-room dining. The role supports the service team by maintaining table settings, assisting with beverage and bread service, running food and beverages when needed, clearing and resetting tables, and keeping service areas organized. The position contributes to guest satisfaction through attention to detail, teamwork, and anticipatory service. The role also involves preparing and restocking service stations, supporting buffet and private-event setups, communicating guest needs and dietary information to servers and the kitchen, and following resort, Forbes, and safety standards. The work takes place in a fast-paced, guest-facing environment with indoor and outdoor service areas and moderate to high noise levels.
Requirements
- Previous experience in restaurant or resort food service is preferred.
- Food Safety Certification, or ability to obtain it within 30 days of hire.
- Ability to communicate clearly and professionally with guests and team members.
- Fluent English reading, writing, and speaking skills.
- Ability to stand, walk, bend, and reach frequently during the shift.
- Ability to safely lift, push, or carry up to 50 pounds.
- Comfort working indoors and outdoors in varying weather conditions.
- Polished, professional appearance and demeanor consistent with Forbes service expectations.
- Ability to anticipate guest needs, take initiative, collaborate, and communicate effectively in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment.
- Ability to maintain composure and a positive attitude under pressure.
- Commitment to resort values of respect, integrity, and genuine care.
Nice To Haves
- Exposure to Forbes or luxury hospitality standards is an advantage.
- Additional language skills are preferred.
Responsibilities
- Set and maintain tables and service stations according to outlet and Forbes presentation standards.
- Prepare and restock side stations with china, glassware, silverware, and condiments throughout service.
- Assist servers with food and beverage running when required.
- Observe guests discreetly, anticipate their needs, and clear and reset tables promptly after each course or guest departure.
- Handle guest requests courteously and accurately communicate special needs, allergies, or dietary restrictions to the server and kitchen.
- Set up and break down buffet and service areas as assigned.
- Assist with joining tables and setting up for large parties and private events.
- Maintain the cleanliness and readiness of pantry, side, and pass stations throughout the shift.
- Perform opening, closing, and weekly tasks as assigned.
- Participate in daily line-ups to review menu updates, specials, and key guest information.
- Operate handheld or POS support devices when required for team communication and digital checklists.
- Follow Forbes, resort, and safety guidelines, including proper handling of food, serviceware, and cleaning materials.
- Assist in other Food & Beverage outlets or functions as needed to support resort operations.
- Maintain Forbes-aligned grooming and uniform standards.
- Provide discreet, anticipatory support and communicate with the team to help maintain service flow and guest satisfaction.
