About The Position

The Server Assistant is responsible for maintaining a neat and orderly dining room and guest service area within the assigned food and beverage outlet at The Hotel Hershey. The role supports guest service by assisting servers, helping meet guests’ needs, and keeping tables, buffets, food stations, and service areas clean, stocked, and prepared. The position requires working at least 16 hours per week. Scheduling is based on union seniority and will most likely include flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays to meet operational demands.

Requirements

Must be at least 16 years of age.
At least 1 year of related experience.
Present a professional image in compliance with Hershey Entertainment & Resorts guidelines.
Work independently and remain self-motivated in performing job duties.
Be friendly and upbeat, work well with other employees, and interact effectively with guests.
Multitask while prioritizing job tasks and assignments.
Work at least 16 hours per week and meet schedule requirements, which will most likely include flexible hours, days, evenings, weekends, and holidays.
Meet the physical demands of the job, including frequent reaching forward and overhead, finger dexterity, hand/eye coordination, standing, walking, and lifting up to 50 pounds; occasional stooping and bending.

Nice To Haves

Experience in the food and beverage industry is preferred.

Responsibilities

Greet guests professionally and anticipate and serve their needs.
Serve beverage and food items and describe menu items and preparation methods to assist servers.
Assist with guest service by retrieving food from the kitchen, safely transporting it to guests, and removing items from tables.
Forward guest concerns to the applicable wait staff member or supervisor.
Break down, clean, and set up tables, buffets, and food stations.
Stock linen, china, silver, and glassware, ensuring items are polished and in good condition.
Complete assigned side work in a clean and orderly manner.
Restock dining and service areas and ensure condiments are supplied on guest tables before guests are seated.
Perform other duties as assigned.
