About The Position
The Bar Backup assists the bartender with daily operations of the Iberian Lounge, service bar, banquet bars, and poolside bar at The Hotel Hershey. Duties include carrying supplies and equipment, setting up bars, cleaning beverage areas, delivering alcoholic beverages and obtaining receipts, keeping bars stocked, preparing bar recipes as assigned by management, and backing up the poolside bartender. This is a seasonal, part-time union position available for the summer season beginning April/May. The position is primarily second shift, with schedules that may vary according to operational needs and union seniority. Evening, weekend, and holiday work is likely. The role requires lifting up to 70 pounds and standing for long periods.
Requirements
- Must be at least 18 years of age.
- Obtain RAMP Certification post-employment.
- Must be well groomed and cordial with guests.
- Must be able to lift 70 pounds.
- Must be able to stand for long periods.
- Must be able to meet scheduled requirements, likely including evening and weekend hours.

- Previous bar experience is helpful.
Responsibilities
- Carry supplies and equipment, including wine, spirits, fruits, ice, glassware, tables, and chairs.
- Help set up service bars and portable bars for parties.
- Clean debris and maintain good order in bar areas.
- Clean beverage areas.
- Deliver wine, spirits, and beer and obtain required receipts.
- Keep all bars stocked.
- Prepare bar prep recipes as assigned by management.
- Back up the poolside bartender.
