About The Position

The Senior Wire Specialist assists the Wire Operations Manager with daily operations workflow and branch support to maintain system integrity, meet compliance requirements, and support client satisfaction. The role follows established policies and procedures for fund transfer functions and has no direct reports. Responsibilities include processing and reviewing outgoing and incoming wires, investigating exceptions and suspicious activity, balancing wire transactions, producing SWIFT statements, maintaining documentation, processing investigations and returned wires, supporting branches and departments, and ensuring compliance with applicable requirements.

Requirements

At least 2 years of wire transfer processing experience.
PC proficiency.
Typing speed of 50 words per minute and 10-key proficiency.
High level of accuracy.
Ability to work under restricted time constraints.
Ability to communicate effectively with bank and correspondent bank personnel.

Nice To Haves

College degree preferred but not required.
Banking experience preferred.

Responsibilities

Perform daily opening and end-of-day procedures on wire systems.
Prepare, input, verify, and release outgoing wires, investigating and resolving issues as needed.
Monitor, review, release, or report wires for fraud or suspicious activity, including OFAC and fraud monitoring.
Review and process incoming wires and investigate and resolve exceptions accurately.
Generate and send SWIFT statements, including MT950 and MT942, daily.
Balance incoming and outgoing wires daily, including appropriate processing and posting.
Maintain accurate documentation, including daily production logs, tracers, and the FCIU exempt list.
Process wire investigations and returned wires, and notify branches or departments in a timely manner.
Review Consumer International wires daily and ensure the correct templates are used for Dodd Frank wires.
Issue sub-test keys to branches and departments as necessary.
Answer calls promptly and provide superior client service, following through with correspondent banks and internal team members.
Assist branches and other departments with wire transfer inquiries and provide support on using the wire application.
Work with the FCIU team to assist with setting up RMA for the International Department.
Ensure compliance with BSA and other applicable compliance requirements.
Assist the Wire Operations Manager with daily operations workflow and branch support.
