About The Position

As a Senior UX Design Technologist, you combine design expertise, technical fluency, and AI capabilities to create thoughtful, intuitive, high-quality workflows and experiences. You are a hands-on maker who bridges design and technology, translating ideas into polished, functional experiences. You understand UX craft and design systems, and you empower others through shared skills, scalable workflows, AI-powered tools, and repeatable design practices. You make complex technical capabilities simple and practical for designers and researchers, identifying what is appropriate to automate and what should remain in human hands. The aim is to make the technical ecosystem around UX easier, safer, and more effective—not to own every task or replace UX judgment. The UX Operations Team enables design excellence at scale by improving systems, tools, processes, and shared practices. Reporting to the Senior Director of UX Enablement, this role works across the broader UX organization and partners with designers, researchers, Design Systems, Product, and Engineering. Its focus is well-defined, repeatable UX work where technical skills can reduce manual effort, shorten backlog, and make proven approaches easier to reuse. The role is remote within the US.

Requirements

  • At least 4 years of experience in design technology, design systems, developer experience, UX or design engineering, or technical UX operations, working closely with designers and engineers.
  • Comfort with software team practices such as version control, code review, and APIs, and the ability to communicate credibly with engineers; software engineering experience is not required.
  • Regular use of AI tools and understanding of when they are useful; fluency in creating and using skills and agents.
  • Ability to explain technical ideas clearly to non-technical people and experience helping others adopt new ways of working.
  • Ability to work without a detailed roadmap, identify opportunities, and follow through independently.
  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Design, Human-Computer Interaction, Interaction Design, or a related field, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Hands-on experience with Figma, Git-based version control such as GitHub or Bitbucket, modern AI-assisted development tools such as Claude Code, Cursor, or Copilot, and front-end technologies such as React, TypeScript/JavaScript, HTML, and CSS.
  • Comfort working with APIs, MCPs, and integrations to connect tools and automate workflows; ability to build functional prototypes, work with existing code and components, and collaborate credibly with engineers.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience designing for enterprise-level applications, services, or platforms, specifically support or call centers.

Responsibilities

  • Use code, AI, and established design patterns to complete straightforward UX Operations backlog work with clear problems and expected outcomes.
  • Identify designers using AI effectively, capture their skills and techniques, and turn them into documented, shared assets for the UX organization.
  • Use APIs, MCPs, skills, agents, and integrations to connect tools and information, remove unnecessary manual steps, and simplify common UX workflows.
  • Translate technical capabilities into useful, accessible guidance for designers and researchers, partnering with Engineering or Product Managers when deeper technical expertise is needed.
  • Apply sound judgment about the limits of automation and AI, recognizing when technical acceleration is suitable and when deeper research, exploration, or design judgment is required.
