About The Position

CSAA Insurance Group is hiring a User Experience Design Intern to support its Digital UX team during an 11-week summer internship. The intern will participate in work spanning discovery and the product design, research, and development lifecycle, learning to balance user goals with business objectives to create simple, effective, and thoughtful user experiences.

The program emphasizes hands-on learning and immersion in the business, with professional development, job-specific training, networking, an Intern Innovation Challenge, executive meet-and-greets, community service opportunities, and social activities. The anticipated 2027 internship dates are May 24 through August 6. The position can be remote or hybrid based out of Phoenix, Arizona. The anticipated hourly rate is $29.50.

Requirements

• Currently pursuing an undergraduate or graduate degree in Human-Computer Interaction, Digital Design, User Experience Design, or a related field.
• Must have authorization to work indefinitely in the United States.
• Strong written or verbal communication skills.
• Interested in beginning a career in user experience design or the digital IT space.

Nice To Haves

• Rising junior or senior, ideally graduating in December 2027 or May 2028.
• A strong eye for design and analytical skills, with an interest in research.
• Familiarity with, or eagerness to develop skills using, design and research tools such as Figma, Adobe, Lookback, and Jira.
• Self-motivated and results-oriented.

Responsibilities

• Design products using the user-centered design process and learn to understand and communicate the story behind research.
• Work alongside designers on wireframes, prototypes, and visual design.
• Gain exposure to Figma, Adobe, and research tools.
• Work with the Design System to learn about branding and creating consistently designed products.
• Build presentation skills by participating in weekly design review meetings with the UX team, engineering team, and business leaders.
