About The Position

State Affairs is hiring a Senior UX Designer, Interaction Design to define and own the interaction layer across web and mobile products. The role will set the vision for the company’s professional tools and shape cohesive interaction models and experiences in a category where these solutions do not yet exist. The designer will have autonomy to identify and solve important problems and will work directly with a principal-level designer who is invested in supporting their growth. The position involves exploring original concepts through prototyping, defining and validating complex user flows and information architecture, and partnering with Product and Engineering to turn high-level goals into shippable features. The designer will use Figma and AI prototyping to communicate interaction details and motion, collaborate with engineers to ensure the shipped product reflects the design intent, and use quantitative and qualitative data to improve subsequent versions. This is an onsite opportunity based in State Affairs’ Washington, DC office.
