Senior UX Designer
About The Position
The Senior UX Designer will join Twitch’s UX Community team, which designs streamer creation and viewer engagement experiences across Twitch’s product ecosystem. The team builds and maintains a cross-platform live streaming service that supports the growth and development of streamer-based communities. The role leads design work at the program level, partners with senior cross-functional stakeholders, presents work to executive leadership, mentors junior designers, and reports to the Community Director of Design. Designers at Twitch contribute from project conception through execution and iteration. This position involves hands-on research and close collaboration with engineers, with an emphasis on designing human-centered, playful, and caring software. The position can be based at Twitch’s headquarters in San Francisco or a hub in Seattle, Irvine, or New York City.
Requirements
- At least 5 years of practical UX design experience, emphasizing content discovery and/or content engagement experiences.
- Demonstrated interaction design and visual craft skills, including experience prototyping mobile experiences.
- Demonstrated ability to collaborate closely with designers, researchers, product managers, and engineers.
- Demonstrated ability to influence product strategy and roadmaps.
- Aesthetic sense and ability to make confident decisions.
- Demonstrated empathy for people using software or products.
- Expertise with Figma.
Nice To Haves
- Experience with AI workflows.
- Experience as a content creator or with user-generated-content platforms.
- Experience executing complex research plans and speaking with customers.
- In-depth knowledge of design systems.
- B.S., M.S., or MFA in Design, Interaction/UX Design, or HCI.
Responsibilities
- Collaborate with a cross-functional development team of product managers, engineers, and designers.
- Learn from streamers and viewers about how they use Twitch services and what they want to accomplish.
- Develop creative solutions to problems that support and sustain streamer communities.
- Use and improve existing design patterns and approaches, contributing to Twitch’s design community.
- Combine qualitative and quantitative information to form hypotheses about customer motivations and improve designs.
- Present work in design reviews and feedback sessions.
- Mentor junior designers and help establish team best practices.
- Lead design work at the program level, collaborate with senior cross-functional partners, and represent work to executive leadership.
