About The Position

Fieldpiece is seeking a Senior Upstream Product Manager - Connected Products to identify market opportunities, define future products, and collaborate with engineering to bring innovative connected solutions to life. This role requires a blend of technical expertise, customer insight, and business strategy, focusing on shaping the product portfolio across hardware, firmware, and connected software. The position is based in Park City, UT, with a hybrid work schedule.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree in engineering or another technical discipline.
  • 10+ years of upstream product management, product marketing, or product strategy experience in a new product environment.
  • Strong technical background with experience working on connected or IoT product experience with hardware, firmware and software solutions.
  • Experience partnering closely with engineering teams throughout the product development lifecycle and proven success bringing technical products from concept through commercialization.
  • Expertise in translating Voice of Customer (VOC), market research, and product strategy into product requirements and understanding tradeoffs, priorities, costs, etc.
  • Outstanding communication, storytelling, and executive presentation skills.
  • Ability to simplify complex technical concepts into compelling customer value propositions.

Nice To Haves

  • HVACR, industrial equipment, instrumentation, or professional tools experience.
  • MBA or advanced technical degree.

Responsibilities

  • Develop product strategy for hardware, firmware, and connected software solutions.
  • Identify market opportunities through Voice of Customer research, field engagement, and competitive analysis.
  • Partner with engineering to define product requirements, priorities, and roadmaps.
  • Build business cases that guide product investment decisions.
  • Lead products from concept through commercialization.
  • Develop go-to-market strategies and successful product launches.
  • Collaborate across engineering, sales, marketing, finance, and operations to deliver exceptional customer solutions.
