About The Position

Sompo is hiring a Senior Underwriting Assistant for its E&S Excess Casualty team in the Alpharetta office. The role reports to the VP, Underwriting Support Manager, E&S Casualty, and provides administrative and operational support across underwriting activities, from submission review and quote preparation through binding, policy issuance, and endorsements. The team works with appointed wholesale brokers to provide capacity, consistent underwriting, and timely coverage and claims responses.

Requirements

At least 4 years of experience as a Senior Underwriting Assistant in a similar role.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to multitask effectively.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Review new and renewal submission documentation and prepare files for quoting.
Provide administrative and operational support throughout the quote, bind, policy issuance, and endorsement process.
Coordinate with brokers and internal partners to obtain required information and ensure timely, accurate account handling.
Prepare, process, and distribute binders, policies, endorsements, and related documentation in compliance with service-level agreements and regulatory requirements.
Maintain organized underwriting files and support team workflow.
Identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
