About The Position

Sompo is hiring a Senior Underwriting Assistant for its E&S Excess Casualty team, based in the Alpharetta office. The role reports to the VP, Underwriting Support Manager, E&S Casualty. The team works with appointed wholesale brokers to provide capacity, consistent underwriting, and timely coverage and claims responses. The role supports new and renewal submissions and provides operational assistance through quoting, binding, policy issuance, and endorsements. It also coordinates with brokers and internal partners, prepares and distributes underwriting documents, and maintains organized files while supporting efficient team workflows.

Requirements

Minimum 4 years of experience as a Senior Underwriting Assistant in a similar role.
Strong problem-solving, decision-making, and organizational skills.
Excellent written and verbal communication abilities.
Proficiency in Microsoft Office, Outlook, Access, and Adobe Acrobat.
Ability to multitask effectively.

Bachelor’s degree preferred.

Responsibilities

Support new and renewal submissions by reviewing documentation and preparing files for quoting.
Provide administrative and operational support throughout the quote, bind, policy issuance, and endorsement process.
Coordinate with brokers and internal partners to obtain required information and ensure timely, accurate account handling.
Prepare, process, and distribute binders, policies, endorsements, and related documentation in compliance with SLAs and regulatory requirements.
Maintain organized underwriting files, support team workflow, and identify opportunities to improve processes and efficiency.
