About The Position

Career Developers Inc. is seeking a highly skilled and motivated trial attorney with at least 8 years of experience to join its high-performing litigation team. The attorney will defend complex premises liability matters involving personal injury and property damage claims, as well as general liability and labor law matters, with significant opportunities for trial work. The position involves managing cases from initial intake through trial and offers a collaborative, dynamic environment, professional growth, and exposure to a range of legal matters, including in-court trial experience. The role is hybrid in New York City, LI, and WP.

Requirements

• JD from an accredited law school.
• Admitted to practice in the State of New York.
• At least 8 years of defense litigation experience.
• Experience with construction matters involving NYS Labor Law 200, 240, and 241; insurance defense; premises liability; and/or general liability.
• Experience appearing in court for motions, hearings, depositions, and trials.
• Superior analytical skills and the ability to think critically and strategically.
• Strong written and oral communication skills, including experience drafting complex legal documents.
• Ability to independently and responsibly manage a caseload.

• Demonstrated trial experience with personal injury, general liability, or tort cases.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage a caseload involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, construction (NYS Labor Law), and other litigation matters.
• Handle all aspects of insurance defense litigation through trial.
• Regularly conduct and defend depositions, handle court appearances, and engage in motion practice.
• Prepare and examine witnesses, ensuring thorough case preparation and strong client representation.
• Work with other attorneys, team members, and Partners on legal projects and case strategy.
• Communicate with clients by providing status reports, advice, and counsel regarding case developments.
• Participate in trial strategy discussions and prepare trial exhibits and evidence for litigation.
• Actively manage client expectations, keep clients informed, and deliver excellent outcomes.
