About The Position

Career Developers Inc. is seeking an Attorney with at least 8 years of litigation experience to join a seasoned team representing clients in general liability and casualty, construction-related lawsuits, transportation, and trucking matters. The team supports the training and professional development of its attorneys. The role is based in the New York City office and is hybrid, with a listed base salary of $180,000–$185,000.

Requirements

• Juris Doctor degree from an ABA-accredited law school.
• Active membership in good standing with the New York State Bar.
• At least 8 years of substantial litigation experience.
• Experience with insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability.
• Strong business acumen and project management capabilities.
• Proficiency with legal research tools and case management software.

Nice To Haves

• Demonstrated experience as first and/or second chair is strongly desired.
• Advanced understanding of New York Construction Law, including Labor Law §§ 200, 240, and 241.
• Experience with OSHA proceedings and regulatory compliance.
• Background in a Corporation Counsel or District Attorney's Office.

Responsibilities

• Independently manage cases involving insurance defense, general liability, auto and transportation liability, and New York State Labor Law construction matters.
• Partner with attorneys, team members, and Partners on legal projects in a team-oriented environment.
• Handle court appearances and depositions regularly.
• Communicate with clients by providing clear, timely updates and guidance.
