Senior Counsel, Professional Liability & Litigation

COR Partners•Atlanta, GA
•$200,000 - $275,000

About The Position

Cor Partners is seeking an in-house mid-level attorney to provide legal partnership to its four sister companies across professional liability, litigation management, and risk mitigation. The attorney will be the primary legal advisor to business and operational leaders, oversee litigation and subpoena responses, manage external counsel, and promote consistent legal processes and practices across the enterprise. This role supports the transition from a decentralized external legal model to centralized legal partnership and support, while providing governance and oversight. The work affects business continuity, risk management, market reputation, and relationships, and calls for a collaborative, solutions-oriented approach. The role includes managing litigation and dispute resolution; responding to subpoenas, regulatory inquiries, and document or file requests; advising on professional liability exposures and legal, regulatory, and operational matters; handling occasional trademark matters; and reviewing, drafting, and negotiating commercial contracts. It also supports enterprise-wide legal and compliance processes, including document retention, file content, and records management, and provides related training and education. The position requires a Juris Doctor from an accredited law school and active bar membership in good standing. The posting seeks approximately 10 or more years of relevant experience in insurance services, claims handling, third-party administration, and/or expert services, with experience in professional liability, insurance defense, litigation management, working with outside counsel and carriers, subpoena and document-request responses, and commercial contract lifecycle management. The position is based in Illinois for pay-range purposes; no specific work arrangement is stated.
