About The Position

Career Developers Inc. is recruiting a full-time Construction/General Liability Litigation Associate Attorney for a hybrid role based in New York City or White Plains. The firm is seeking an associate with at least four years of litigation experience to join a seasoned legal team representing clients in matters involving general liability and casualty, construction-related lawsuits, transportation, and trucking. The team is dedicated to training attorneys and advancing their professional experience and knowledge. The associate will independently manage litigation matters, collaborate with attorneys and Partners on legal projects, handle court appearances and depositions, and maintain close communication with clients. The position offers a salary range of $125,000–$175,000. The posting describes a hybrid arrangement and indicates a need for one hire to work in the NYC office and one in the White Plains office.

Requirements

Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.
Admission to practice law in the State of New York.
At least four years of litigation experience, including cases taken to mediation or trial.
Experience with construction insurance defense, premises liability, and general liability.
Superior analytical abilities to break down complex legal issues.
Demonstrated excellence in written and verbal communication.
Ability to independently manage caseloads with accountability and precision.

Nice To Haves

Understanding of New York Construction Law, including New York State Labor Law Sections 200, 240, and 241.
Experience with OSHA hearings.
Background with a Corporation Counsel or District Attorney's Office.
Legal project management experience.

Responsibilities

Independently manage cases involving insurance defense, general liability, auto/transportation liability, and New York State Labor Law construction matters.
Partner with attorneys, team members, and seasoned Partners on legal projects in a team-oriented environment.
Handle court appearances and depositions.
Communicate closely with clients and provide clear, timely updates and guidance.
