About The Position

Lambda is hiring a Senior Technical Program Manager to lead complex programs for its Public Cloud. The role owns programs from planning through rollout, delivering roadmap commitments with accountability for schedule and quality. It translates product priorities and engineering strategy into execution plans, coordinates cross-functional launches, establishes delivery practices, and provides teams and leadership with clear visibility into progress, decisions, and blockers. The position requires working in Lambda’s San Jose, San Francisco, or Bellevue office four days per week. The designated work-from-home day is currently Tuesday.

Requirements

  • At least 8 years of experience in technical program leadership or engineering management, with a record of shipping complex cloud services.
  • Understanding of software delivery, infrastructure architecture, and distributed systems sufficient to assess implementation choices and challenge assumptions with engineers.
  • Experience with GPU infrastructure, machine learning platforms, or orchestration systems such as Kubernetes.
  • Ability to independently lead several teams through ambiguous requirements, competing priorities, and delivery risks, influencing decisions without direct authority.
  • Ability to communicate technical issues and business consequences clearly, adapting detail for engineering teams and senior stakeholders.
  • Effective use of delivery methods and planning tools, selecting processes that improve execution and ownership.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience launching customer-facing infrastructure services, including APIs, tenant isolation, access controls, metering, or billing.
  • Familiarity with GPU capacity planning, fleet lifecycle, cloud service reliability, and production incident follow-up.
  • Experience helping a growing organization establish repeatable planning and delivery practices.

Responsibilities

  • Own complex programs from planning through rollout, delivering Lambda Public Cloud roadmap commitments with clear accountability for schedule and quality.
  • Translate product priorities and engineering strategy into execution plans with defined outcomes, milestones, owners, and decision points.
  • Partner with engineers on architecture, implementation estimates, and sequencing; surface dependencies, risks, and delivery tradeoffs early.
  • Coordinate launches across compute, networking, storage, and the cloud control plane, aligning Engineering, Product, Infrastructure, SRE, Security, and Support on readiness and customer impact.
  • Establish a practical delivery cadence connecting roadmap planning, capacity availability, testing, release gates, rollout plans, and operational handoffs.
  • Maintain a shared view of progress, decisions, and blockers for teams and leadership; drive timely escalation, resolve cross-team dependencies, and follow through on commitments.
  • Define launch success measures for service availability, provisioning, performance, and customer experience, and use post-launch reviews to improve future delivery.

Benefits

  • Generous cash and equity compensation.
  • Health, dental, and vision coverage for the employee and dependents.
  • Wellness and commuter stipends for select roles.
  • 401(k) plan with a 2% company match for U.S. employees.
  • Flexible paid time off plan.
