Senior Technical Program Manager
About The Position
The Senior Technical Program Manager will lead complex technical programs for Akamai's Inference Cloud team, part of the Cloud Technology Group. The team designs, implements, deploys, and operates AI platforms that enable customers to run inference models and developers to create AI applications with performance, compliance, and economic benefits. This role requires technical understanding of AI/ML systems, strong organizational and program management skills, and experience leading large-scale technical programs. The position guides AI platform initiatives from planning through delivery and release, working across functions and communicating progress, risks, and changes to leaders. Akamai's FlexBase approach supports working from home, in an office, or a combination of both, according to what suits the employee and job needs.
Requirements
- 8 years of relevant experience in technical program management, cloud infrastructure engineering, or AI/ML.
- A Bachelor's degree or equivalent.
- Comfort navigating ambiguity, handling risks, and shifting gears as needed.
- Ability to inspire people at all levels of the organization without authority.
- Ability in change management and transformation processes.
- Significant experience with Agile processes and methodologies.
- Professional experience as a Project Manager or Program Manager, working effectively with cross-functional teams.
- Ability to thrive in a fast-paced environment while managing high-visibility, time-sensitive, large-scale complex programs.
- Solid domain knowledge in cloud infrastructure, developer platforms, distributed systems, or AI/ML inference workloads.

Responsibilities
- Lead end-to-end program planning and execution for major AI platform initiatives, defining technical roadmaps, milestones, dependencies, and risks.
- Lead the Product Development Process and the full software development lifecycle and release process for AI products and solutions.
- Use technical expertise to lead complex projects and manage programs from concept to market, including planning, risk management, and schedule management.
- Establish program metrics, track progress, monitor updates, communicate changes to leaders, and provide guidance while mentoring team members.
