Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager, Performance

About The Position

Fastly is seeking a Senior Technical Product Marketing Manager to drive go-to-market strategy and positioning for its application and API performance solutions. The role will explain how Fastly delivers performance for both human and non-human traffic, including AI crawlers, fetchers, and autonomous agents, and why performance matters as traffic patterns evolve. Working with Product Management, Sales, Customer Success, and Marketing, the manager will turn technical understanding of modern traffic into product launches, solution sets, messaging, and enablement that demonstrate Fastly’s relevance to how the internet operates today. The position supports technical buyers and existing customers by developing clear performance narratives, differentiating Fastly from legacy CDN vendors and newer competitors, and helping customers understand the value of Fastly’s expanding performance capabilities. The role also contributes to technical content and campaigns, sales enablement, cross-functional product alignment, and public presentations. The position requires availability during core business hours and may require travel as requested by the manager. It is open to hybrid work locations, with a preference for candidates near offices in San Francisco, Denver, or New York; remote candidates within the US may also be considered.

Requirements

  • At least 7 years of professional experience, including at least 3 years of product marketing or related experience.
  • Technical background in content delivery, edge computing, or a closely adjacent field, with understanding of how modern applications and APIs are built, served, and optimized at scale.
  • Working knowledge of, or strong interest in, how non-human traffic such as AI crawlers, fetchers, bots, and agents is changing performance, cost, and reliability requirements for applications and APIs.
  • Strong storytelling skills and excellent written and spoken communication, including the ability to translate technical nuance into clear customer-facing narratives.
  • Exceptional critical-thinking and problem-solving skills.
  • Proven organizational skills and ability to prioritize and multitask.
  • Self-starter with strong initiative and drive.
  • Availability during core business hours.

Nice To Haves

  • Previous experience as a sales engineer.
  • Hands-on experience with content delivery networks, gateways, and adjacent technologies.
  • Direct exposure to how AI agents, LLM crawlers, or automated fetchers interact with web and API infrastructure.
  • Track record of launching or marketing performance-related products in a technical, developer-adjacent market.

Responsibilities

  • Design, enable, execute, and measure product launches and go-to-market plans in alignment with Product Marketing and cross-functional teams.
  • Own positioning for how Fastly’s platform delivers performance for human and non-human traffic, including AI crawlers, fetchers, and autonomous agents.
  • Monitor emerging AI-driven and automated traffic patterns and translate findings into empirical product positioning and content.
  • Differentiate Fastly’s performance capabilities from legacy CDN vendors and newer entrants addressing AI-era traffic.
  • Develop cross-sell narratives that explain the value of Fastly’s expanding performance capabilities to existing customers as their traffic mix evolves.
  • Partner with Sales and enablement teams to create training, slide decks, and other sales-cycle assets.
  • Use competitive intelligence and market context from Portfolio Intelligence to position performance-oriented products and features.
  • Collaborate across functions to align product strategy, messaging, and packaging.
