About The Position

Capital One is seeking a Senior Technical Product Manager to own the technical roadmap for the Capital One Travel Core Platform Team, which builds foundational tooling used across Travel experiences. This deeply technical, builder-minded role is intended for someone with end-to-end software delivery experience who can lead as a product manager, manage stakeholders, and influence partner teams’ roadmaps toward shared goals. The platform encompasses a shared component library used across six Travel funnels, AI-enabled front-end development through design-to-code mapping and component metadata, CI guardrails, modern testing and deployment practices, observability, and developer experience. The role will bring these workstreams together into a sequenced program with measurable outcomes, and partner with engineering leadership, design, funnel teams, and agency teams to translate the technical mandate into a roadmap and shipped results. The position combines platform strategy with hands-on technical collaboration. The product manager will participate credibly in architecture and design-system discussions, lead stakeholder operating rhythms, and prototype concepts with AI-assisted development tools. The role calls for clear communication with engineers and executives, comfort with ambiguity, cross-functional influence, and a focus on platform adoption and developer satisfaction.

Requirements

  • Currently has, or is in the process of obtaining, a bachelor’s or master’s degree in a quantitative field, Business, or Marketing, with the required degree obtained on or before the scheduled start date; alternatively, a bachelor’s degree in any field and at least four years of Product Management experience.
  • Deep technical credibility with engineering partners and comfort evaluating architectural tradeoffs firsthand.
  • Fluency in modern front-end platforms, design systems, CI/CD, and observability.
  • Clear, concise, and actionable communication with engineers and executives.
  • Ability to influence partner teams toward long-term platform adoption.
  • Ability to work with limited information, take initiative, frame problems, and iterate toward clarity.
  • Strong problem-solving skills in complex, multi-stakeholder, multi-team environments.
  • Customer-first approach that understands platform users’ pain points and reflects them in roadmap decisions.
  • Excellent collaboration across engineering, design, data, and product, with a community mindset.
  • Hands-on experience using AI-powered development tools such as Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Stitch by Google, or similar platforms to prototype and validate ideas.
  • Comfort working in AI-agent environments where autonomous workflows are part of the toolkit.
  • Ability to own a technical roadmap, make tradeoffs, and optimize for long-term business and customer value while delivering quality results on time.
  • Ability to find simple solutions to complex technical and organizational challenges and avoid over-engineering.
  • Design and UX sensibility, including the ability to wireframe and reason confidently about user experience.

Nice To Haves

  • Experience translating business strategy and analysis into consumer-facing digital products.

Responsibilities

  • Own the Platform Team’s technical roadmap from discovery through delivery, prioritizing and sequencing component-library, AI-enablement, deployment, observability, and developer-experience workstreams.
  • Drive centralization of the shared component library, including tokens, primitives, wrapped components, Storybook, and Figma integration, and lead migration of all Travel funnels onto it.
  • Lead AI-driven development enablement through design-to-code mapping, component metadata for AI grounding, and ESLint/CI guardrails to prevent shadow components.
  • Modernize deployment, testing, and observability practices, including test strategy and coverage compliance, regression-test automation, feature-flag and A/B automation, and proactive monitoring.
  • Prototype and validate technical concepts using AI development tools such as Claude Code, Claude Cowork, Stitch by Google, or equivalent tools, and help shape autonomous and semi-autonomous AI workflows.
  • Participate in architecture reviews and design-system working sessions, reasoning about technical tradeoffs, dependencies, and sequencing.
  • Run the operating cadence, including quarterly stakeholder reviews, ownership of the platform placemat, onboarding kits and migration guides, and developer-experience surveys with follow-through.
  • Translate an ambiguous mandate into clear technical requirements and a defensible sequence, iterating as new information becomes available.
  • Champion platform engineers and consuming teams, treating developer satisfaction and platform adoption as first-class outcomes.
  • Communicate priorities, strategies, and tradeoffs to engineering partners and executives.
  • Influence partner teams to adopt the long-term platform strategy and collaborate across engineering, design, data, and product.
  • Apply Capital One’s product framework: human-centered, business-focused, technology-driven, integrated problem solving, and transformational leadership.

Benefits

  • Comprehensive, competitive, and inclusive health, financial, and other benefits supporting total well-being.
  • Performance-based incentive compensation, which may include cash bonuses and/or long-term incentives.
