About The Position

The Senior Technical Presales Engineer distils customer technical requirements through discovery calls, QBRs and other engagements, then conceptualises solution architectures tailored to clients’ use cases. Solutions may combine existing products, enhanced features, customised products and third-party peripherals. The role is part of the European Go To Market team and is based in the Netherlands. The work model is hybrid, with the Leiden office as the primary location and the option to work from home up to two days per week. Regular travel within Europe is expected.

Requirements

At least 5 years of experience in solution engineering, application engineering or technical presales roles.
Ability to understand and solve problems.
Technical writing skills.
Systems engineering skills.
Working knowledge of telecommunications infrastructure.
Working knowledge of sensors and instrumentation.
Working knowledge of basic electrical concepts and wiring.
Working knowledge of firmware and software code development practices and principles.
Ability to use software packages that support day-to-day operations and business activities, including MS Office Suite, JIRA and CRM platforms such as HubSpot.

Responsibilities

Rapidly scope custom solutions.
Follow a structured technical scoping process during discovery calls and document customer needs in detail.
Attend client QBRs and project implementation meetings, identify technical insights for unsolicited proposals, and help ensure successful project roll-outs.
Help qualify and scope feature requests and hardware, firmware or software customisations.
Contribute to and adhere to internal processes for custom feature and product requests.
Increase the win rate for deals requiring technical proposals.
Develop sophisticated, effective solutions and assist in writing compelling proposals.
Ensure the quality and completeness of solution architecture slides and documents in proposals.
Assist in developing support documentation and contribute to support materials.
Engage with customers and gather feedback on support materials.
Test new products and features internally ahead of client testing.
