About The Position

Join Thermo Fisher Scientific's Human Resources Technology Services (HRTS) team as a Senior Systems Analyst supporting complex HR technology initiatives, including mergers and acquisitions (M&A), Phase X implementations, Workday enhancements, integrations, and other strategic projects. The role combines HR technology and data expertise with hands-on project coordination, business analysis, and testing leadership. The analyst works with HR, Payroll, IT, technical teams, and external partners to translate business requirements into actionable plans, coordinate activities across workstreams, and support successful implementation. The role supports and coordinates Workday and HR technology initiatives from requirements gathering through testing, deployment, and stabilization. It requires knowledge of Workday, HR and Payroll processes, employee data, and downstream system dependencies, as well as strong analytical and organizational skills. The analyst brings structure to complex work, tracks progress, anticipates risks and dependencies, facilitates issue resolution, and ensures stakeholders have visibility into activities and next steps. The position also contributes to end-to-end testing strategies for initiatives spanning multiple Workday functional domains, integrations, data conversion, and downstream applications. The ideal candidate is analytical, organized, and proactive, with Workday and HR process knowledge and the ability to coordinate complex work across teams. They anticipate dependencies, connect issues across systems and workstreams, drive accountability, and maintain visibility into progress and risks. They can manage detailed execution activities independently and support successful testing and delivery.

  • At least 7 years of experience supporting enterprise HCM systems, HR technology implementations, business analysis, or related initiatives.
  • Strong experience with Workday HCM, including core HR processes, reporting, employee data, business processes, and cross-functional system dependencies.
  • Strong knowledge of HR and Payroll business processes and how employee data flows between Workday and downstream applications.
  • Demonstrated experience supporting complex Workday implementations, M&A integrations, enterprise enhancements, or other large-scale HR technology initiatives.
  • Strong analytical skills and demonstrated experience working with large datasets and performing data analysis, reconciliation, and validation using Microsoft Excel.
  • Experience coordinating activities across multiple functional and technical teams, managing dependencies, tracking progress, and driving timely completion of deliverables.
  • Experience supporting requirements gathering, functional analysis, testing, data conversion, and implementation activities.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, problem-solving abilities, and the ability to manage multiple priorities independently.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills, including the ability to communicate effectively with business stakeholders, technical teams, and external partners.
  • Demonstrated initiative and accountability, with the ability to proactively identify issues, drive follow-up, and operate effectively in a fast-paced global environment.

  • Translate business requirements into functional specifications and coordinate with Workday domain architects, integration developers, and other technical resources on solution design and implementation.
  • Understand Workday data structures, business processes, integrations, and downstream system dependencies to identify potential impacts and facilitate cross-functional discussions.
  • Support data conversion, including data mapping, cleansing, validation, reconciliation, mass data loads, and downstream integration readiness.
  • Analyze large datasets using Excel and other analytical tools to identify discrepancies, validate results, troubleshoot issues, and support business decisions.
  • Coordinate defined bodies of work across M&A integrations, Phase X initiatives, Workday enhancements, integrations, Time & Absence, and other HR technology projects.
  • Develop and maintain activity trackers, schedules, milestones, action items, and dependencies aligned with broader project plans and timelines.
  • Follow up with functional and technical teams to track commitments, identify blockers, resolve issues, and maintain delivery momentum.
  • Coordinate requirements gathering, solution discussions, implementation sequencing, testing readiness, and deployment activities across multiple workstreams.
  • Identify risks, issues, and downstream impacts, and communicate status and recommended actions to project leads and stakeholders.
  • Facilitate working sessions and status meetings to establish ownership, support timely decisions, and maintain accountability for deliverables.
  • Partner with project managers, solution architects, and domain leads on implementation planning, change assessments, and production readiness.
  • Coordinate end-to-end testing across Workday functional domains, integrations, downstream systems, and business stakeholders, including SIT, UAT, and regression testing.
