About The Position

The Senior Specialist, Benefits & Pensions is responsible for the end to end delivery and continuous improvement of benefits, retirement and recognition programs, ensuring effective program management and a positive employee experience. The role combines program expertise with a strong focus on process optimization, risk management, and data driven insights. As a trusted subject-matter expert, the Senior Specialist partners with internal teams and vendors to resolve complex matters, strengthen controls, and modernize program delivery through simplification, automation, and improved digital tools—contributing to broader Benefits and Pension transformation initiatives. This is an ideal opportunity for a benefits or HR professional who enjoys balancing operational excellence with innovation, using data and judgment to drive meaningful improvements to both the employee experience and program sustainability.

Requirements

  • 3-5 years of experience administering/managing an HR program; prior program management experience is considered an asset.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business / human resources or equivalent experience.
  • Strong communicator who can simplify complex information for diverse audiences and collaborate well with others.
  • Demonstrated experience improving processes, implementing new tools, or simplifying workflows.
  • Comfort working with data to drive insights and decisions.

Nice To Haves

  • Certified Employee Benefits Specialist (CEBS) or Human Resources Designation (CPHR, CHRP) is considered an asset
  • Basic SAP and/or SuccessFactors experience is an asset.
  • Experience with automation tools, or AI-driven enhancements is an asset.
  • Bilingualism (English & French) is considered an asset for this role.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end employee experience for benefits, retirement and recognition plans, ensuring clear communication, timely coordination, and a supportive employee journey. This includes program enrollment, life cycle changes and processing of program payroll contribution.
  • Engage effectively with diverse internal and external contacts on program matters, using strong judgment to proactively identify and resolve complex program matters.
  • Ensure program documentation, resources, and employee-facing tools are accurate, accessible, and easy to navigate.
  • Develop and maintain reporting that provides clear, actionable insights for leadership. Review and integrate audit controls to ensure risk mitigation and accurate program management.
  • Continuously evaluate how we work today and redesign workflows to drive efficiency and a smoother employee experience.
  • Identify opportunities for simplification, automation, and improved digital experience.
  • Champion new ways of working and help embed modern best practices contributing to broader Benefits and Pension transformation and operational excellence initiatives.
