About The Position

We are seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to join a newly established engineering team within the Unity Platforms Organization. This team is responsible for delivering Unity platform support for an Android-based ecosystem encompassing mobile, laptop, and hybrid form factors. We enable Unity developers to seamlessly deploy titles across these devices while fully leveraging their unique hardware and software capabilities, including optimized display utilization, native input integration, and platform-specific services. The team is also charged with researching and implementing runtime optimizations to improve startup performance and execution efficiency across both entry-level and high-performance devices. This will be accomplished by establishing performance benchmarks, collaborating with internal and external domain experts to conduct deep performance analyses of the Unity engine on the platform, and partnering with key stakeholders to deliver verified enhancements at a high quality bar.

Requirements

Background in testing on Android systems
A consistent track record of shipping large, complex software projects and driving quality outcomes
Performance profiling competencies with tools such as Perfetto, Unity Profiler, RenderDoc, etc.
Experience developing automated tests using C# (.Net Core)
Fluent with AI tools, understand their limitations, and know when a human needs to be involved

Nice To Haves

Familiarity with native debugging and crash analysis
Spent time mentoring developers on quality practices
Comfortable reasoning about graphics performance on mobile hardware — tile-based GPUs, Vulkan/GLES, and how rendering choices affect frame time and thermals
Prior experience testing in a game engine (Unity, Unreal, Godot, etc.)
Experience on other platforms including MacOS, Windows, Unix/Linux, iOS

Responsibilities

Own the test strategy for this area by working closely with your developers to write test plans, create test suites and expand our platform coverage through automation and exploratory testing
Coordinate with our Automation & Tooling team to build on existing test infrastructure and extend it for comprehensive automation coverage across supported form factors
Interact, connect, and build confidence in our quality with external partners and react to changing priorities
Analyze bugs and regressions and convert customer and partner bug reports into test code
Create, maintain, and monitor performance automation and dashboards to provide evidence of performance wins and stability
