About the position
Garner is seeking a Senior Software Engineer to join their team and contribute to their mission of transforming the healthcare economy. The ideal candidate will work closely with a talented product and design team to revolutionize how people find top doctors and get their medical claims reimbursed promptly. This fully remote position requires expertise in Python and experience with Flask, SQLAlchemy, Docker, and a major cloud provider. The successful candidate will have a passion for working in a fast-paced, innovative environment and be eager to learn and apply new techniques and technologies.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and launch new features for the Garner app
- Improve the overall quality of the Garner app
- Collaborate with other disciplines to understand user needs and iterate on new ideas
- Ensure user privacy and security through secure coding practices
- Support the Garner app in production
- Use Python, Docker, Kubernetes, Istio, Postgres, ElasticSearch, NATS, AWS, and Terraform in software development
- Have at least 4 years of hands-on experience delivering full-stack software
- Possess expertise in Python
- Familiarity with Flask, SQLAlchemy, Docker, and a major cloud provider
- Experience with database systems, especially PostgreSQL or ElasticSearch
- Work in a team using agile methodologies and fluency with the agile toolkit
- Be mission-driven and interested in changing the healthcare system
- Thrive in a small, fast-paced team that adapts quickly to new challenges
- Enjoy ideating on new features and working with data for insights
- Excitement for researching and using the latest tools.
Requirements
- 4+ years hands-on work delivering full-stack software
- Expertise in Python
- Familiarity with Flask, SQLAlchemy, Docker, and a major cloud provider
- Experience with one or more database systems, especially PostgreSQL or ElasticSearch
- Experience working in a team using agile methodologies and fluency with the agile toolkit

- Strong ideation skills and ability to work with data to find insights
